The Fouhy Adventures began in 2010, when I found myself alone in the grand state of Colorado and away from my family on the East Coast. Couple this loneliness with the desire to learn some basic HTML/CSS and my first adventure was born. The result was an epic trip around the southwest corner of Colorado and a great feast with new friends.

As a single man I decided to continue the adventure and try my luck with Valentine's Day, and attempt to find love. It has yet to lead to my one true love, but Valentine's 2011 was a wonderful dinner and a Valentine to remember. This adventure even garnered some attention form The Denver Egotist.

Further continuing the adventures, I decided to create a site that would allow me to meet new and interesting people and not limit things to a single event. Drinking can occur anywhere, on any day, at any time. Thanks to the extra attention from The LA Egotist, The Boston Egotist, The Denver Egotist, and digiday, I have made many great memories with new friends, and hope to continue to make more.

This adventure took things in a slightly different direction and I invited all to come along for a drive. Broadcasting a Google Hangout live to YouTube I was able to livestream the view out my windshield as I made the journey home for Christmas from Pittsburgh to Boston. I created a collaborative Spotify playlist which I listened to during the drive and encouraged those tuning in to add some jams and listen along. I also created #drivewithfouhy to allow people to provide tips and communicate with me via twitter. As cell service improves, I hope to invite all along for a drive again one day soon, perhaps a beautiful drive through the Colorado Rockies…

Since there isn’t much worse than arriving home from a trip and having to take public transit home from the airport this chapter of the adventures attempted to avoid the inconvenience of putting friends and family on the spot. I decided to allow those who may be interested to decide on there own whether they would like to pick me up by providing a small incentive for doing so. So far the results have worked out swimmingly for everyone involved.
World’s Oldest Ring Bearer
Thanks to good friends Vinny and Danielle, and the acknowledgement of recordsetter.com, for 6 years and 27 days I held the record for World’s Oldest Ring Bearer at 29.51 years old. It was an accomplishment I was most proud of, even getting a little shout out from Huff Post. With the new record now set at 91 years, I clearly have some living to do.

Inspired by the Jessica Walsh and Timothy Goodman’s project 40 Days of Dating, it was on Day 14 that Tim makes a reference to Jessie having a bit of an “Eddie Murphy Laugh”. As Eddie Murphy has such an amazing laugh, I felt the world needed quick access to this joy. Working with Nick Stahlnecker over the course of a few hours eddiemurphylaugh.com was born.

The year was 2012, it was SXSW, and late night arrivals back to the hotel had rekindled a long lost love for Frasier. Until that fateful night the TV was turned on and Frasier was no where to be found. Begging the question... "What time is Frasier on?" In response whattimeisfrasieron.com was purchased and with the help of Ben Roth a website was developed. Unfortunately the API used to pull television listings based on your location has expired, but fret not, Frasier can currently be watched anytime you like on Hulu and Peacock.

Working with Brian Morrissey and Ben Roth, we developed a simple website to allow people to post the things they wouldn't tweet from their own account, completely anonymously via canttweetthis.com. From this initial experiment, it seemed people really enjoyed confessing their love anonymously, as a result yousofuckinghot.com was created and launched on Valentine's Day 2013. Then there was the epic Burger King hack of 2013, we quickly decided to create @pretendBK and allow everyone the ability to tweet as though they were Burger King, building and launching the site in roughly an hour. To conclude the experiment we built a SXSW specific version, called SXbackchannel.com, as a venue for attendees and haters to vent about the happenings of the festival without having to own up to it.

I find something weirdly beautiful about porcelain and bathrooms. As a result, I began photographing urinals and writing a short review of my experience with them on urinalsiveused.com. As you might guess, taking photos in a bathroom with your iPhone can be tricky, hence I tend to focus on those urinals I find truly unique.
I am currently developing this project into my second book, to be titled Occupied, with some small modifications to the content that accompanies the photos. If all goes as planned it should be on shelves by Christmas 2020.

The thought was what better way to view and appreciate Instagram photos than on a vintage TV. The result, Instavision was born. Using the Instagram API we created an Instavision feed that displayed new images as they were added in real time on this beautiful old TV, further enhancing the beauty and nostalgia of your photos.

A web site was also created to display the feed and mimic how the broadcast would look for those who were unable to experience the the Instavison TV in real life.

What started as a bit of an inside joke to ease tension while on location for the FreeRide project during SXSW quickly escalated into the creation of a gif by Roberto Serrini. As a purveyor of single serving domains, I sometimes find myself in envy of others. I decided to create a single serving site to give those single serving domains (especially those that describe exactly what they are) that evoke my envy a place to live: urlenvy.net

napkinofthemonth.com came about as a result of @pearlw live tweeting a #firstdate. The young lady on this date mentioned she had a bit of a napkin collection, and made reference to starting a blog called ‘Napkin of the Month’. As a purveyor of the internet, I immediately checked to see if the url was available, it was, I made the purchase. As I felt remorse for taking advantage of the situation I did nothing with the url for some time. As time went on with no interest, I felt compelled to do something with the url. Hence began the napkin sessions. Once a month, or now when the inspiration strikes, a meeting of friends is coordinated over drinks, a napkin is passed around the group with each member taking turns to add to the masterpiece and create the ‘Napkin of the Month’.
Napkins are also shared on Instagram and twitter.

"I used Kelvin" a simple statement, that became a url, which quickly turned into a website. The filter long considered the bane of Instagram begged the question, who actually uses ‘Kelvin’? Leading to a Saturday afternoon with Lasse Korsgard and the creation of iusedkelvin.com*, showcasing those not just using ‘Kelvin’ but so proud of that use, they tag the photo #kelvin. For the shame, or the glory… you decide.
*The Kelvin filter having long been retired, iusedkelvin.com is now just a bookmark on possibly the worst moment for photography.
