Occupied is a collection of urinals used and photographed by artist Brian Fouhy. Often unnoticed, Fouhy hopes to draw attention to the beautiful, odd, and sometimes funny forms urinals can take.

By including information surrounding the use of each urinal, such as the meal eaten in a restaurant, the weather conditions at the time, or the distance from relevant points of interest; Fouhy adds another layer to the experience beyond just a standard visit to the loo.

With a nod to Duchamp and the ready-made movement, and full of frivolous whimsy, this book takes a look behind the closed doors of bathrooms and showcases these unusual objects that perform a very necessary task.

Occupied will be Fouhy’s second book published with New Heroes & Pioneers.
